Wild Horses

How did this vast land come to be? What was before people? What created the bread basket of the world? The great eastern forests? The diversity? What mammal competed with the dinosaurs and eventually prevailed? Is the greatest social animal of all time? Is the living symbol of freedom? Is one with nature? Can adjust to any environment? Can restore a broken land by bringing insects, birds, predictors, finds water for the others and causes restoration? Was eaten to extinction on this continent and returned to conquer those who failed to realize what they were till they also learned, then went on to build this place. God if anything on this planet is meant to be wild and free it is the horse. I give thanks for it and vote let it be. It’s the future.

We are sailing on a ship of fools across a great universe. The first class passengers are calling for more speed, more stuff, more money, more, more, more. While we shovel the coal day in and day out into the furnaces as they grow hotter and hotter and some warn they will overheat. BUT before they do the coal runs low, the deck chairs must be burned still we hear more, more. The cabins burned, furniture, and finally the life boats till the ship stalls adrift, no food no water. The greedy few are banished but it doesn't matter for a storm is coming. The ship founders it can only support a few. There is mutiny, mayhem. If only we stoped the greed, turned off the boilers, set sail, landed on an island. There is no magic bullet, capitalism is fueled by energy and is entering its death throws. The planet can only support 1 billion of us without oil. ARE YOU READY?

Reading so many oppinions as how to MANAGE the "Wild Horse Problem" either by slaughter, captive holding, introducing preditors to their land, sterilastion, hunting, seems everyone knows best. May I suggest we turn the humans into Soylent Green and feed all the horses and let them breed till they displace the rest of us.

Managed to death. horses and mankind

Everyone has heard of the “bread basket of the world” Our Great Plains were once inhabited by the great herbivores and their predictors. Horses ripping the barks off the forests trampling the land bringing insects, birds and meat eaters. Ultimately creating the most fertile land on earth. So lets manage them so we can decide what works best. Oil pipelines, drilling, development We are desperate and dependent on oil yet 100 years ago we had no oil and horses 100 years from now we will have no oil or horses. BELIEVE it. There is nothing that will replace oil except a life style as it was before oil. Thanks BLM for ending human existence. Then maybe the few horses left can again breed in vast numbers and remake the land as they once did.

Nitro has an infection in his knee. Seems he might have been kicked by the pony. He's in a lot of pain and generally likes to rest his head on my shoulder to help take weight off it.
