Bill Evicted Again
His ancestors once roamed the Americas millions of years before man, the oceans their only boundaries. When men arrived they were almost hunted to extinction but some escaped into Asia and Europe across the land bridge, there people learned to partner with them and they came back in the bellies of ships. They helped build this place plowing our fields, moving our goods and fighting our wars, even one granting Freedom for all. Once no longer needed they were used for dog food but again a few escaped that fate thanks to the American people and one of the biggest letter writing campaigns ever caused President Nixon to grant them their freedom and set aside public lands for them. Unfortunately the BLM is now rounding them up again and only a few remain. Bill was taken as a yearling, branded, gelded and found his way to Connecticut as a pony for a little girl that soon out grew him. He was sold, bought and sold again. we found him at a camp tied to a post on a hot summer day saddled with no water destined for the auction. He is one of the smartest and toughest horses we have and he's naturally gated and one of the most comfortable horses I have ever ridden. He was evicted from one farm, now another so we must move him again. The problem is Bill hates trailers, maybe because one took him from freedom. So we are asking everyone who can that would like to walk with Bill part of the way home to donate $10. For all those that can't be there Bill will carry a bag with everyone's name. We hope that someday Bill and all our rescues will all have a place they can call home, forever.

The energylesss future.
The energy of the future will come from horses, trees, and grass. BELIEVE IT! We are rapidly running out of fossil fuel and nothing will ever take its place, at least not in liquid form. If we continue on a path of consumption it will happen sooner rather then latter but eventually it will happen. Wind, solar panels, tides can only offer but a simmering of the energy needed to support so many of us. The only way forward is found by looking back to a time before oil. The two fuels of the real future will be trees and grass. Trees for shelter, heat and burn to fire steam engines and grass for horses who can work all day fueled by it. And there better be less of all of us. Sorry but 100 years ago we did it 100 years from now we will either learn to re live the past or perish. We might have some electricity but that's about it. There really is NO magic bullet. We need to leave our American Mustangs be, plant billions of trees, and nature grasslands. Cows must give way to farms, sub divisions and strip malls must stop being built and even turned back into land. OR we may have to one day eat little green patties.

Energy v. The American Mustangs
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/12/16/AR2010121604898.html
We are fixated on the words, jobs, growth and development and are selling our heritage to multinationals until ultimately the entire country will displace everything even our most cherished places in the name of profit. Our American Wild Mustangs, and many other species are already being removed in record numbers so that special interests may develop their lands.

Standing
Supreme Court Judge Scalia who wrote the book on “standing & mootness” once wrote that “a person that has standing at the beginning of a case shall have it at the end of the case.” Yet many Judges rule that one can loose standing if the violation is corrected hence the mater becomes “moot.” The problem is a plaintiff as in my case can spend 20 years and spend millions while the violation is corrected often because of the very actions of the plaintiff, then be dismissed on “Summary Judgement.” These cases never see a jury or the light of day, but reside in the bowls of the Court till the outcome benefits the corporate person so it can live forever unlike real persons. It’s like a reverse double jeopardy. Judges often move mountains to protect capital. Mere Mustangs are expendable as are mountains, clean air, water, and even people.

This Administration
They died fighting for freedom, they epitomise freedom, the president more then anyone is the recipient of that freedom. Yet his administration takes freedom from them.
