The energylesss future.
The energy of the future will come from horses, trees, and grass. BELIEVE IT! We are rapidly running out of fossil fuel and nothing will ever take its place, at least not in liquid form. If we continue on a path of consumption it will happen sooner rather then latter but eventually it will happen. Wind, solar panels, tides can only offer but a simmering of the energy needed to support so many of us. The only way forward is found by looking back to a time before oil. The two fuels of the real future will be trees and grass. Trees for shelter, heat and burn to fire steam engines and grass for horses who can work all day fueled by it. And there better be less of all of us. Sorry but 100 years ago we did it 100 years from now we will either learn to re live the past or perish. We might have some electricity but that's about it. There really is NO magic bullet. We need to leave our American Mustangs be, plant billions of trees, and nature grasslands. Cows must give way to farms, sub divisions and strip malls must stop being built and even turned back into land. OR we may have to one day eat little green patties.

Energy v. The American Mustangs
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/12/16/AR2010121604898.html
We are fixated on the words, jobs, growth and development and are selling our heritage to multinationals until ultimately the entire country will displace everything even our most cherished places in the name of profit. Our American Wild Mustangs, and many other species are already being removed in record numbers so that special interests may develop their lands.

Standing
Supreme Court Judge Scalia who wrote the book on “standing & mootness” once wrote that “a person that has standing at the beginning of a case shall have it at the end of the case.” Yet many Judges rule that one can loose standing if the violation is corrected hence the mater becomes “moot.” The problem is a plaintiff as in my case can spend 20 years and spend millions while the violation is corrected often because of the very actions of the plaintiff, then be dismissed on “Summary Judgement.” These cases never see a jury or the light of day, but reside in the bowls of the Court till the outcome benefits the corporate person so it can live forever unlike real persons. It’s like a reverse double jeopardy. Judges often move mountains to protect capital. Mere Mustangs are expendable as are mountains, clean air, water, and even people.

This Administration
They died fighting for freedom, they epitomise freedom, the president more then anyone is the recipient of that freedom. Yet his administration takes freedom from them.

VETERANS ALL
Nov 11, 2010 @ 12:35:38
Today, we all witness our proud veterans and time and time hear the words “they fought for our freedom” To me freedom is an American Mustang running free. God only knows I’ve yet to feel free myself. Now for this President who more then anyone in the world may feel a sense of freedom to devastate that symbol of most Americans is hypocrisy, insulting, and un American. Didn’t enough horses die in that freedom fight? Doesn’t our country care? Are we really the home of the brave and the land of the free? OR is it only free trade they all died for? Some of our rescue horses march in the parade every year. A veteran living in an old age home once in the US Cavalry requested it. They end the parade to salutes, cheers, and applause. Yes, they fought for it too.

The greed borns them and then again dies them. Entire lives come and go for a few pieces of silver

The Civil Wars Epitaph
There was a Civil War in this country in which the blood of horses and men bought the freedom that is epitomized by the very president today. For the very symbol of American Freedom our American Mustangs to be killed and caged during this presidents term speaks volumes. We have been sold out by the highest bidder, corporatized, and lost our country to greed.

Oil's mother.
Along came oil, with it a shift in world power to America oil's mother. She grew powerful won wars and could manufacture and build anything. Slowly oils mother ran out of her fix, oil found a new mother. America is trying to fight to be mom but spending dads entire retirement fund looking for more oil and steeling it from its new mom. Jihad.

Horses v. Corporations
Of the 100 largest entities in the world 51 are corporations. No people, president, congress, or court can interfere with their agenda. We stand and salute a trademark. Our American Mustangs are an infringement to that agenda, as are our oceans, mountain tops, and air. It is essentially all about energy and ironically as capitalism begins its final death throws for lack of energy the one source of energy that served mankind for thousands of years the horse will be gone too. Eventually we will scratch the dirt with our fingers to grow food, walk to our destinations, and fight each other for sustenance all because of corporate greed. God bless America, home of the brave and the land of the once free.

Our American Mustangs
The BLM is indiscriminately gathering up Our American Mustangs and in doing so will remove forever the very icon of Our American Freedom in spite of the will of the American people, Congress and the Courts. In an effort to bring even more attention to the issue I think we should refer to what the BLM calls "Wild Horses" as "Our American Mustangs" for they truly are. They have survived here for 500 years often in horrible conditions and adapted. They have been taken and brutalized for centuries by us to help us build this place and when no longer needed they became food for our dogs. Still their social behavior has preserved a few of these rugged American horses and we need to do all we can to insure Our American Mustangs endure even the latest attack by the BLM, so that we may always have the symbol of American Freedom.

Energy v. Jobs
Energy is fundamental to and entrenched in the American way of life and political system. As it runs out our capitalist system will slash and burn our mountains, poison our oceans, warm the climate and decimate all sea and wild life including our Wild Mustangs our very symbol of freedom. I'm afraid all we can do is ride it out, it may turn bloody ... See Moreat some point but in the end the energy will run out. The question is what will remain of this place? We managed 100 years ago without energy and will need to learn how to do it again or at least to use much less. To do that we need to change and abandon "growth and development" and the political catch all phrase "new jobs". We can't employ the whole world.

Obama: Gulf spill 'echoes 9/11' - Politico Staff - POLITICO.com: "“I have no idea what new energy sources are going to be available, what technologies might drive down the price of renewable energies,” he said. “What we can predict is that the availability of fossil fuel is going to be diminishing; that it’s going to get more expensive to recover; that there are going to be environmental costs that our children, … our grandchildren and our great-grandchildren are going to have to bear.”"

Soy-lent Green
When we moved from a time of horsepower to a time of oil power the world shuddered. WW1 & WWl l and others were surely based on oil and the shifting world power to the US an oil rich country. Now we are not oil rich, and the rest of the world wants to be like us so the oil rich countries have become rich beyond our imagination the whole world its market. Ah, but the transition from oil power back to horse power will be even more desperate. There are fare more of us and far fewer horses, and farms. YET the BLM responsible for the Gulf oil mess, is also rounding up our last Wild Mustangs. I get it, they can pull plows, carry goods, and be turned into dog food. Get ready, has anyone seen Soy-lent Green?

FANATICS
Tell me the difference between Greed fanaticism and Religious fanaticism. The god of greed is corporation its priests are the CEO's the shareholders its flock. We have been molested by some CEO's terrorized, killed maimed, our children are less, cancer has taken hold. Yet they are esteemed by all as the creators of wealth. The shareholders hold them to the task, they must report profits at any cost, buying government, discharging toxins, they sever our mountains, foul our water, until all life forms are compromised. One day to make a statement how evil these corporations are the Religious fanatics took out their twin temples. The evil doers have felt the might of the enraged Greed fanatics that have wrecked havoc on them for ten years while the rest of the world awaits terrorism in the form of human bombers. What in the world is it all about? The terrorists don't want the capitalists yet both destroy in the name of their god. BUT fear not soon the fuel of capitalism, ENERGY will be depleted the religious fanatics will win by default however they too will succumb to the poisons and toxins of the aftermath. In the end the planet will recover and survive only who will be left to know?

Eden
When Henry Hudson pushed up the great river it was full of all manor of fish. The forests along its banks were so dense one couldn't force his way in. Great flocks of migrating birds would cloud the sky flying to the great marshes of the Gulf. The air was fresh and sweet with oxygen. The devil offered us a big apple called corporation and we bit into it

Beware BLM
Beware BLM, overseer of the Gulf oil, seller of our geothermal lands, remover of our mountain tops, friends of the rich and powerful. Beware you have awakened a force like never seen before. A force so strong every politician is vulnerable. Oh BLM, how dare you claim to be keepers of our horses, running them to death, severing them from their land, gelding them, and breaking our hearts. How dare you. Oh but wait BLM a force more powerful than anything that ever rocked this nation is bubbling up like a caped volcano, a calamity, a wave of hot lava is sure to burn every one soiled by your dastardly deeds. Beware politicians the BLM has lit the fuse, there is nothing worse then a woman scorned.

Expendable
Are we desperate for energy? The BLM is selling our geothermal land in Nevada, our oil in the Gulf, and our mountain tops in Appalachia. Our horses, fish, and people have became expendable so the Wall Street fat cats can eat steak.

A New Court
Time to treat Corporate CEO's that kill and mamie for greed as terrorists, and the shareholders financially responsible for whatever damage to the environment, animals, or people. For that to happen we need a Court. Not a Federal Court because they are benign as the rest of government at regulating corporate crime, but a court of the people, by the people and for the people. A lottery of a number of people should be held and 3 judges nominated. Then a jury picked by lottery. Federal Law already in effect would likely be sufficient to prosecute the evil doers.

SS Earth
We must first consider the Earth as a ship floating on the ocean space. It is on a coarse to some unknown destination the wheelhouse is locked. We the crew the tiered, poor, huddled masses shovel the coal into the ever consuming boilers. The once limitless coal bins are beginning to empty. The water tanks are fouling, yet the captain, officers and first class passengers want more speed, more water, more food. Alas, more and more of us fill the holds and shovel the coal and eat the food and poop into the holding tanks ever consuming every thing on board. It reminds me of a John Wayne movie when every thing was burned in the boilers, the furniture, the doors, and ultimately the life boats. There's mutiny, disease, fighting over everything. The fog is rolling in the firers are dying were adrift. We are indeed on a ship of fools. And when the last one of us sips the last of the water, and eats the last crumb of bread and breathes the last breath of clean air he will wonder, did we all have to be so human.

End of Freedom
The End of Freedom
Greetings,
They were here first the oceans their only boundaries. They prepared the land for us, but when we came we hunted them almost to extinction. Some escaped to Europe and mankind learned to partner with them. 500 years ago they came back in the bellies of ships, only the strong survived, the rest thrown overboard. They helped build this country, plowing fields, moving people and goods. Two million were sent to war, two hundred came back. They rounded up the cattle, rodeo'ed, stared in movies, fed our dogs and to thank them we gave them some badlands with little water. They survived and represent American grit and freedom. Now one man, the head of the BLM with oversight of the Gulf oil spill is rounding them up. Dose he really have time for our Mustangs? How ironic, the very oil that replaced horses is running out. Our desperation to get is is apparent. Will we have a future with no oil or horses, or will he plow our fields? CONGRESS return our Mustangs to the land designated to them in the 1971 law. Every Mustang removed, gelded, penned, and slaughtered is an abomination to our freedom and future.

Corporate Terrorists are the Untouchables
Corporate terrorism is every bit as real and dangerous as any other type of terrorism, ONLY corporations are untouchable. Neither government, the courts, or even society has been able to defuse the dirty bombs they perpetuate on society. PCB's, dioxin, the most deadly chemicals let loose on the planet deliberately, by greed and cover up. Millions suffer and die as a result.

Not To Fear Global Warming.
Oh the skeptics, there is no global warming. What dose it matter who's right? Before we succumb to global warming we will have run out of fossil fuel, thus ending the debate. The two issues we must address are consumption caused by an every increasing population and depletion caused by an ever increasing population. Only those with food, water and horses will survive. The Comanche's may have been right 100 years ago.

One vs. et all
They originated here and were forced to leave. The strong came back in the bellies of ships the weak thrown overboard. They conquered the first Americans, plowed the fields, moved the goods and people. They gained us our freedom, from the British, freed the slaves. Two million went off to WWl, 200 came back. They stared in rodeo’s, movies, fed our dogs. A grateful country gave them some bad lands and weeds for building this place. It’s been a 500 year long journey and they became the most rugged creatures on gods earth. The very symbols of our freedom. Our President more then any man alive should be outraged. Once gone they will never be back. How can it all be taken from them and us by one man?

Energy
100 years ago we had no oil and horses. 100 years from now we will have no oil or horses. We lived relatively decent lives 100 years ago and horses were a major part of mankind's progress. Oil changed everything. We had it, used it, sold it and prospered from it to become a world superpower. We exported it and others also used it and found it. As our supplies diminish the wealth and power it created for us will ebb and flow to those with it. Our only hope for survival is to begin to think 100 years ago. What oil is left must be used wisely, we must consider becoming an agricultural nation again bartering food and clean water for our needs, because as other countries become more like us we need to survive as the earths resources are depleted. And yes someday horses may once again play a role in mankind's survival. The BLM is removing our Wild Mustangs off their legal ranges in record numbers. The very rugged survivors that could virtually live on brush and little water may vanish forever. 500 years of survival of the fittest, natural selection and DNA that may one day be needed to mix with other breeds. We need to at least begin to think about such things before it's too late.

TIRED
I'm so tired of all the stories about the BLM taking our horses off our land. We can write till our fingers fall off and the BLM will never consider anything we say. We need to devise some new ways of dealing with them. The pending Federal Lawsuit is one way but we already know what will be the Courts opinion is going to be, don't we? They're enough of us to change elections but it would be hard to act in concert. Maybe we all need to be part of a single organization, bigger then the Sierra Club, or NRA. We need to be well funded and buy lobbyists. Maybe some of us should run for Congress. Something though needs to be done that will save 500 years of evolution, before it's gone. I know lets go to auctions and buy all the mustangs for a pittance and let them loose.

$700,000 says it all
$700,000 to round up 2000 mustangs = $350 per horse. $350 for the life of one of the toughest creachers god ever created. They survived the horse latitudes, fought in the the Indian wars, Revolutionary War, Civil War. 2 million were sent to World War 1, 200 came back. They plowed, moved people and things, did the rodeo, stared in movies, fed our dogs, rode our kids. It took 500 years for some of them to become American Wild Mustangs symbols of freedom and perseverance. They were given rock and brush as gratitude and adapted. Now ONE MAN is wiping them out! One man with power over all our souls, feelings, and our horses. Damn him.

The Horse Latitudes
As the Spanish came to America they brought their horses, needed for transportation, farming, and fighting. Hardy, smallish horses bred for endurance made the ocean crossings in the bellies of wooden sailing ships. Bad food, water, crowded smelly and hot. As the ships passed into the doldrums often the weaker horses would be thrown overboard to help the stronger ones make the voyage. Truly they must have been super horses to spend months like that. They arrived and worked in America for friend and foe alike some escaped into the abyss away from mankind's toil and food and breeding. They evolved over five hundred years into The American Mustang. An even hardier survivor that eked out existence off volcano rock and desert by its very social behavior. Their DNA is the product of survival of the fittest and natural selection. They are the very symbol of American freedom and perseverance. Under the guise of good intentions the BLM is rounding them up to spare them some dire fate as hunger, and will save them by removing them from their legal lands and placing them in pens. Pens that kill them in large numbers while they try and adapt to mankind's stupidity. We must not allow this. Once gone they will never reappear. Write, call. act before it's too late.

Tea Party and Freedom
Ah yes, the free market. Lets all applaud the “tea party” movement and let the government stand down and let the free market rule. Indeed the word FREEDOM is only valid in our system of free markets. We are not free by any other measure. Yet the government itself is a free market isn’t it? It’s not at all ruled by the republic but the very free market that overwhelm it. I say let it all be free till it implodes around itself so a new world of regulations with people not freedom festers.

Salazoos
Ever hear of Sea World? Unfortunately a killer whale pulled its trainer under by her pony tail. He likely meant no harm but he being a whale and her a human there was no comparison as far as brute strength is concerned. Seems to me whales being whales are better left in their own element, the oceans.
Ever hear of Salazoo? It's a place the head of the BLM wants to send our Wild Mustangs. Wild Mustangs, that bite and kick and are as strong as ten humans. Mustangs that already live on their land for free will now cost taxpayers many millions to round up and keep in Salazoos. When will we ever learn that nature manages wild animals best. It culls the herds, and makes them strong and the herds in turn protect the environment. Besides Wild Mustangs are our very living symbol of freedom, to remove them from that freedom in the name of saving them is ludacris.

Are We Corporations?
There seems to be some debate as to whether or not corporations are humans; in the eyes of the law they are. They have the same rights as people in a court of law and the Supreme Court has just given them the right of free speech and empowered them to overrule the votes of we mere citizens, by their financial might, to advertise for their choice. They can lobby and buy political influence and often escape violations of law because they are too big to fail and it goes on and on.
But are they really people?
They may be. Every one of us has foreign chemicals in us and for this discussion I will use the man made chemical PCB. The only chemical banned by an act of Congress because it’s toxic at minute levels but what’s even worse is its ability to alter cells and the fact that because its so foreign to nature doesn’t break down but, bio-accumulates in all living things.
As part of Federal litigation that I’m the plaintiff in was a study by St. Johns University that looked at the toxic effects of PCB’s on cells. PCB’s don’t necessarily kill cells as most toxins do, but alter them (cancer) and once altered are altered into infinity to each new generation. Since we all have PCB’s in us and the likelihood of altered cells that we pass to our offspring can we assume that besides our own DNA we are passing the altered DNA that some corporation caused? Are our children therefore modified by a corporation; almost as if they are a third parent?
Crazy as it seems, our DNA is being altered by the irresponsible and deliberate dumping of these chemicals by corporations who would rather do so then spend the money required to dispose of PCB’s properly. CEO’s must report profits to share holders not excuses or high cost cleanups, so they use their influence and power to escape the legal requirements of handling their toxins that generally are dumped and eventually end up in us.
Our country is more and more run by corporations that have even trespassed into our very beings, and as the economy and jobs take center stage the environment will suffer. Our mountains will be severed for coal, our air and water polluted, global warming, extinction of species, all of us fodder fueling the appetite of capitalism. Capitalism that relies on growth and energy at all cost to survive. And survive it will even if it means we too, are modified in their image.

Energy vs. Environment
Energy vs. Environment

17% jobless rate! All bets are off. The environment loses. We’re all flying on this airship called Earth trying to survive in a system that must gobble up the resources of the planet to provide for the most people. But provide what?
India and China are American-ising. Rivers are damned, coal is burned, oil fought over. Everyone wants stuff. Stuff creates jobs, so what’s the problem? The more billions of us that are using stuff causes stuff to become harder to get.
America essentially became a super power because of its oil. Vast amounts of cheap, portable energy and enough of it for everyone. We used it, sold it, and invented products with it. We transgressed the world seeking markets cultivating people to become like us. They have. Except now the oil no longer flows from our land but foreign lands. The tidal wave of wealth has washed over us and went back out to sea. Many in the market still trade in wealth but the raw product, cheap energy, is evaporating.
Once it took one barrel of oil to get 100 barrels of oil; the ratio is about 30 for 100 now. Once it takes one barrel to get one barrel, then no amount of money not even $100 billion dollars will get us more.
Do we really want to create more jobs? Grow the economy? Build more highways? Revive the auto industry? Unfortunately radical thinking doesn’t win votes. Only jobs do. That is the one little dirty word that comes at the cost of the environment, species, human health.
Capitalism’s life blood is energy, without it, it dies. Then what? There is no magic bullet; not gas, sun, nuclear, hydrogen, coal, wind. No other energy source is as portable or efficient as oil. It will be fought for more and more and become more and more expensive driving more and more of us to the brink. We’ll cut off our mountain tops, dig in our pristine areas, drill the seas, but cheap energy is never coming back.
I believe in looking back to the past to a time before oil. 100 years ago we lived without it. We may still have electricity if we learn how to rub magnets together without fire but that’s about it. We better start thinking about growing less jobs and more food or maybe just different jobs.
There were several times in our history when the manufacturing sector was at odds with the agricultural sector. The Civil War for instance. As the population of the world doubles, food and water will be the commodity of the future. I’d rather eat than build a highway for new cars with no gas.

Corporations as people in response to a law professor
Corporations should be treated as people. TERRORISTS, for they are. They can kill, maim, with intent and evade prosecution in court because they are not people. Case in point; I have a 20 year old Federal “Clean Water Act” lawsuit against a major corporation in NY. That company deliberately and knowingly discharged Agent Orange chemicals into a public body of water and into my family. Because of my case’s discovery the EPA designated the area a Superfund Site and requires people there to where toxic suits and respirators. The defendant won a series of Summery Judgements arguing in Court for many years the site was not contaminated despite filing tons of documents with the State and Federal Governments proving it was. The Court ruled in their favor every time based mostly on oral comments and letter briefs submitted by an attorney willing to roll the dice, (or political influence). In any case the proof was submitted to the Court in a Fraud on the Court motion but the Court has sat on it for 5 additional years. Seems the corporation is too powerful and would not be able to satisfy the massive fines if the case moved forward so the law is defiled. By the way Lou Gehrig who lived there ate the eels and died of a disease attributed to those chemicals. See Agent Orange. Had this corporation simply been human it could suffer at Guantanamo Bay.

Energy v Environment
Energy v Environment
Virtually all energy comes at some cost to the environment. As we run out of energy the environment will suffer even more beyond any live sustaining scenario. Our planet will become warmer, our mountain tops will be severed, our water polluted, our forests gone. The only clean form of energy electricity is all to often produced by massive pollution. Electricity ultimately may be one of the few sources of energy we have left. We simply have to learn how to rub magnets without fire if we're going to survive the future. How best to do it?

NEW RESCUE
Very exciting day!Lucky Orphans got it's newest rescue, Sunny. After living at his house for 26 years, he was left alone in the herd from the passing of his mother and sister. After the sad death of his owner, we were contacted by the family and after two months of getting him used to the trailer, he arrived today safe and sound. He spent the day in the sun with 7 other horses , reconnecting with his own kind. Thanks Frank for all your work to get him to this point. We welcome Sunny and plan to give him quality years left living as a horse!

Just a Dumb Horse
Frank M."Just a dumb horse"

I'm sure we have all heard that statement, and others like their just hay burners. I like to answer in the following way. Consider living outside with no food or shelter for a month, with nothing more then a dumb horse. At the end only the horse will be alive. Yes the hay burner that can work all day simply by eating some of it. A totally environmentally benign energy source that will within 100 years once again be our best means of surviving in a energy depleted planet. Lets pray some haven't been managed to death by our smartness.

A Post
Frank M.Corporations

The Supreme Court recently gave corporations even more power as people with free speech. They already have the exact rights we do in a court of law. I for one have been fighting a major corporation in Federal Court for 20 years. They are terrorists! They maimed and killed people with poisons, not unlike the BLM is doing to our horses. Mismanaged their property as they see best so it's remained a Super Fund Site for 25 years. Similar to the BLM's mismanagement of our land. OH IF THEY WERE TRULLY PEOPLE WE COULD TAKE UP ARMS AND FIGHT THEM.

THE BLM
"They look upon fraud as a greater crime than theft, and therefore seldom fail to punish it with death; for they alledge, that care and vigilante, with a very common understanding, may preserve a man's goods from thieves; but honesty hat no fence against superior cunning: and since it is necessary that there should be a perpetual intercourse of buying and selling, and dealing upon credit; where fraud is permitted or connived at, or hath no Law to punish it, the honest dealer is always undone and the knave gets the advantage." It's Over
The latest BLM roundup is over. Over 1800 horses riped from out land to be forever penned in or worse at great expense to the taxpayers. All for their own sake? Did anyone ask them? Our us? Their ours as is the land that they were on.

More BLM Bad News.
Over 100 Wild Mustangs killed to date in the latest round of BLM's removal. They were warned but didn't listen so our horses pay again.

Letter from Senator Charles E. Schumer
Dear Mr. Mancuso:
Thank you for your letter supporting S. 1579, the Restore Our American Mustangs Act. I share your concern about protecting wild horses of the Pryor Mountains, and believe that we must strive to protect wild animals from unnecessary harm.
As you know, S. 1579 would ensure that there is adequate land for wild horses to roam and would also prevent the sale or transport of horses or burros for processing into commercial products. S. 1579 has been referred to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. Although I am not a member of this committee, I will closely monitor this legislation as it makes its way through the Senate.
Animal welfare is personally important to me. I am a co-sponsor of S. 727, the Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act of 2009, a bill which would prevent the slaughtered of horses for human consumption. In the 110th Congress, I also cosponsored several bills to protect companion animals: S. 714, the Pet Safety and Protection Act; S. 1880, which would make dog-fighting a federal crime; and S. 2439, which would require the Federal Bureau of Investigation to track animal-cruelty crimes nationwide. Provisions very similar to the Pet Safety and dog-fighting bills were included in the 2008 farm bill, and I am happy to report that they are now law.
I also strongly supported the Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act, which passed the Senate and is now federal law and I have pushed the Appropriations Committee to provide funding to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to develop plans for evacuating pets during emergencies, such as should have happened in Hurricane Katrina. In addition, I was proud to support the passage of P.L. 106-152, a law banning the interstate trade in "crush videos." Under this law, it is illegal to engage in the interstate commercial distribution of materials depicting animal cruelty, specifically the crushing of small animals by women wearing high-heeled shoes.
Although I am proud of the accomplishments made on behalf of animal welfare so far, I am aware that there are still many animal welfare issues remaining to be addressed.
Again, thank you for contacting me on this important issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of further assistance on this or any other matter.
Sincerely,
Charles E. Schumer
United States Senator

FREEDOM???????????
Home of the Brave and the Land of the Free?
Frank M.59 min ago
"Freedom is just another word when there is nothing else to loose." Freedom in America is freedom for corporations to pollute, to send money off shore, to pay for political campaigns, to control health care, to own our politicians, to be people in a court of law and sadly to eradicate our wild mustangs. No power on earth can push back. BUT although we have lost our freedom and are about to loose the very living symbol of it we are still "THE BRAVE" and will push back regardless of what it costs, until our mustangs win back our freedom.

The air, water and certain lands belong to ALL THE PEOPLE get over it. It took 500 years for mustangs to evolve into what they are and surely would rather die in the teeth of a wolf then as baby back ribs for two. To remove Americans living symbol of freedom for food by locals would be like scraping the Statue of Liberty for copper by New Yorkers.
Deaths Keep Mounting
So far over 40 Wild Mustangs have died as a result of their removal from their land by government contractors. The Secretary of the BLM Salazar fluffs it off by saying "horse advocates are simply emotional." He's DAMN RIGHT WE ARE. It's our land and our horses, not his rancher friends.

My response to ABC's Today Show piesc on Mustangs
To remove the living symbol of American freedom to become dinner for Europeans, would be like scraping the Statue of Liberty for copper for China. The same agency mandated to protect our wild mustangs can not at the same time be expected to manage our public lands for special interests. It's a dilemma. A new agency must be established with their best interest not special interests in mind. Enough lands must be set aside so only nature culls the herds at 50,000 or so. It has taken Wild Mustangs 500 years to become what they are because of their social behavior and environmental stewardship. Once gone it will be forever. Horses originated here over 20 million years ago had the first Americans not eaten them to extinction they might have sailed to Spain in 3 ships. They came back and served us as pioneers, in wars, westerns, rodeos, and even in cans of dog food. Is this how we repay them?

GOV'T ROUNDUP KILLS MORE WILD HORSES AS HELICOPTER CONTRACTOR RUNS FOAL SO HARD HOOVES DESTROYED AND FOAL KILLED
GOV'T ROUNDUP KILLS MORE WILD HORSES AS HELICOPTER CONTRACTOR RUNS FOAL SO HARD HOOVES DESTROYED AND FOAL KILLED: "America has been over run not by wild horses but corporations. Politicians and judges are but the grooms that stroke them. BUT ultimately capitalism will succumb to the diminishing energy supplies it’s so desperately pursuing by displacing our horses. No energy, no growth, no capitalism, no corporation. 100 years ago we had no oil and horses. 100 years from now we will have no oil or horses. Part of our future may be found by looking back to a time before oil."

STOP cruel BLM round up of WILD HORSES Ideas for Change in America Change.org: "The same agency mandated to manage our horses is mandated to manage our land. A dilemma. The BLM is at odds with itself at the demise of our horses over the profits of the land users, energy and cattle. Our wild mustangs must be managed by an agency that has their best interests in mind. One that allocates sufficient lands so that nature culls the herds at some viable level, of 50,000 or more. The real dilemma is that 100 years ago we had no oil and horses. 100 years from now we will have no oil or horses. Capitalism will end as our energy runs out because capitalism relies on growth. The way forward may be found by looking back. At least it must be considered"

BLM ran colt until hooves fall off and mare dies
"The Big Story
BLM Vet Releases Death Report Confirming Stampede Caused Foal to Loose Hooves
HOUSTON, (Horseback) - The federal Bureau of Land Management confirmed that a foal lost its hooves after a grueling stampede chased by a roaring helicopter.
“The colt's hind feet abscessed and the outer hoof wall did separate,” said Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman JoLynn Worley.
However, Worley challenged details of the Cloud Foundation report of the foal’s death.
“The scenario provided by the Cloud Foundation is full of inaccuracies.” she told Horseback Magazine.
Worley said the horse was taken in an early gather in Nevada’s Calico Mountains.
“The colt is from the Black Rock East HMA, which was the first HMA gathered in the Complex, and was brought in to the Fallon facility more than two
weeks ago”

They Were There
They were there in the beginning 20 million years ago.
They were there as food for the first Americans who ate them to extinction.
They were there for the Spanish Conquistadors who first settled here.
They were there for the countless pioneers who plowed, moved their goods and traveled with them.
They were there for the first Americans again to hunt buffalo.
They were there for the army to hunt Indians.
They were there for us in World War 1 and countless of them were shipped overseas for our allies.
They were there for the dogs of America that ate them in cans of dog food.
They were there for the rodeo's, the cow boys, and the movies.
They were there as the symbol on an American automobile.
They were there as the very symbols of Americans freedom.
They were there on their land and we took them for our use and greed, until,
They were there no more.

To Eat Horses or Ride Em
100 years ago we had no oil and horses. 100 years from now we will have no oil or horses. We must look back to a time before oil if we are to survive the future without it. The only energy will be forests, (they're disappearing to make paper and other products) wind, (mountain tops are being severed off for coal) and horses, (they're being rounded up for greed). Horses have been here for 20 million years and have done more to advance mankind then almost any other thing. Had the original Americans used them instead of eating them they may have sailed in boats to Europe long before Columbus sailed here. Horses are an energy source that can work all day powered simply by grass. As humans consume all the earth has to offer we better consider saving our wild horses. They breed by survival of the fittest and natural selection, enhance the environment, and are social, which enables them to work with people. This all sounds so far fetched but not that long ago people lived relatively decent lives without oil. What energy is left must be used wisely. We need food, (farms) clean water, and maybe horses if we want to have humans as part of this planet because earth would do just fine without us. Please comment on your feelings of how we will face the future without oil.

FREEDOM
Seems freedom in America is synonymous with persecution. How is it the very living symbol of freedom our Wild Mustangs can be rounded up, caged, or even slaughtered? What dose that say about us as a culture? Are we just people that utter hollow feel good words when in reality we are all persecuted by a bureaucracy that is so bloated serving corporations that we the people have nothing but words left? Surely if anyone represents freedom in America it would our president and yet he is unmoved by our Wild Mustangs plight.

BLM announces yet another wild horse roundup
BLM announces yet another wild horse roundup: "No need to send comments to the BLM or to ask for understanding or logic from our government. America is nothing more then a large corporation serving other large corporations. We are but the fodder, the consumers feeding the monster we created by shopping and using energy. BUT in reality and what someday will come to pass is that the only energy source left to us will be wind, trees, grass and horses. All of which are destined to depletion. Yes even the wind won't be able to serve us as all our mountain tops are being served for coal. Hunker down, get some horses and plant a garden. But remember when the environmental refugees come calling for a hand out we told them so."
